Tip to Protect Your Email Address

Lots of valuable resources on the Internet require you to provide a valid email address in order to gain access to their information.

In many cases, you may never have a reason to interact with that website again, but if you use your real email address, you’re going to hear from them again whether you want it or not.

For those instances, there’s a way to use a temporary but valid email address to gain access without exposing your actual email address to unwanted follow-up messages.

One of the simplest tools that I’ve used for years is one called 10 Minute Mail which offers exactly what their name suggests.

You simply go to https://10minutemail.com where you’ll be presented with a generic working address that is good for 10 minutes, more than enough time to access the info you seek.

It’s a web-based messaging platform, so everything that gets sent to that address will be accessible from the same page.

What’s nice about this quick and dirty tool is that if 10 minutes isn’t long enough, you can request an additional 10 minutes.

This site should never be used for anything that will require follow up down the road, so use it wisely!
