Preparing for the Worst
It’s time for another Data Doctors Business to Business Tech Tip
You know the old quote, “Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst”? Well, when it comes to your business, you know that mantra all too well.
Which is why you need to make sure you review your Digital Disaster Recovery Plan at least once a year.
For some of you, it might be “create” a disaster recovery plan.
So how do you get started? Simple, start by asking yourself what would happen if one of the most likely disasters were to hit your business:
Fire, Flood, Theft, Virus infection, human error, sabatoge, equipment failure or a major data breach.
The process for recovering from each of these scenarios is quite different and likely require different recovery processes.
Most businesses do a great job of creating a backup process, but don’t put a lot of effort into the actual steps required for the restoration process. It’s like never having a fire drill in school and hoping everyone knows what to do when it happens!
The worst time to develop your disaster recovery procedures is during a crisis, so consider this a wake up call and get it on your schedule today!
