In order to use a Parallel printer with a new computer that only has USB connections you will need to purchase a USB to Parallel Adapter This adapter will allow you to connect your parallel printer to a USB port on your computer The parallel end fits directly to the printer and the usb connection fits directly to your computer This type of connector is plug and play compatible which allows you to connect the printer without having to shut down or restart you computer.
